Create a dramatic effect with this Jacobean revival high back chair with lavish carvings; a great décor piece.
The chair has heavily carved detailing on the back and front apron, decorative finials, and turned side rails, legs and ‘H’ cross stretchers. It has been reupholstered in a light ‘apple/moss’ green velvet and finished with antiquated brass coloured tacks. The wood work (oak and walnut) has been painted satin black.
The chair is to be used as a décor piece and not for heavy-duty regular sitting as you would with a dining chair.
Dimensions: 126 cm high to top, 50 cm high to seat, 47 cm wide, 41 cm deep, 7 kg
Restored. The chair has many woodworm holes; these have been extensively chemically treated but have not been covered up to keep the chairs antiquated look intact. A chunk (dog bite?) had been taken out of the cross stretcher; this has been remolded. To make it structurally sound metal pins have been inserted into the frame/legs. The chair has been reupholstered with new webbing, foam seat padding and fabric, and has been painted.
