Date: ca. 1920-1935
A lovely little bowl (probably intended for soup) made by Christofle in the Art Deco period. The bowl is silver plated and is quite sturdy. It is adorned with two little handles with a shell motif.
The maker’s marks to the bottom indicate ‘Christofle’, 20 grams of silver content, and have the mark of the scales with a ‘C’ to each side. This mark was used between 1862 and 1935 when the C&C was replaced by O&C.
Dimensions: 5 cm high, 12.2 cm diameter, 15.5 cm wide with handles, 0.220 kg
Condition: The bowl is in relatively good condition; there is no damage and it is still nice and shiny. The silver layer on the inside has thinned/tarnished in a concentric pattern (where the foot meets the bowl beneath) and is a bit thinner on the rim as well beneath the handles.
