Date: Ca. 1950-1970
This elegantly shaped decanter is made of emerald green glass and has elaborately hand painted gilding over most of its body, elongated neck, the handle and foot. The opaque gilding comes down into lacelike and scrolling patterns. Enamel flowers have been hand painted over the gilding on both sides.
There are no maker’s marks, so it cannot be dated or attributed with absolute certainty. Comparison tends to point towards the Bohemian ‘Moser style’. L. Moser & Sons (founded in Austria, but now located in the Czech Republic) started making glass in 1857 and the manufactory is still active to this day.
Dimensions: 38 cm high to tip of rim, 815 g
Condition: Good condition. The gilding and enamel flowers are still impeccable. The stopper (probably not original) has very thinned gilding and is made of clear glass.
